Enjoyment, Art and Culture in all their dimensions are part and parcel of Tourism, which is flourishing in Malta as never before. This book, At Baluta Bay, Malta: The Town of Tree and Seas sets in bold relief Malta’s, tourist appeal as well as its strategic position in European-Mediterranean intercultural dialogue, and, beyond that, in cross cultural communication the worl over. The literary form and style of this book fit its substance well and are themselves steeped in ancient, widespread cultural tradition. Since Intercultural-Dialogue and Diplomacy are intimately related, At Balluta Bay, Malta: The Town of Tree and Sea can be regarded as a companion volume in an artistic vein to Francis Cachia’s previous book, Global Diplomacy Reflected in Malta.
Francis Cachia was born in Valletta. His tertiary education was accomplished in Malta, Angland, the USA, Italy and Germany. He has pursued careers in diplomacy, teaching and the media. His books include both scholarly and literary works. On 4th October 2005, he presented his letters of credence as Malta’s Ambassador to H.E Dr.Ivan Gasparovic, President of Slovakia.
