William Soler, born in Sliema on 7 December 1946, graduated B.Sc. Eng. and B.A. Arch. at the University of Malta. Practised the architectural profession since 1970 and board member for six years of the Development Control Commission ‘B’ of the Malta Environment and Planning Authority, tutor of architectural design at the University of Malta for several years and keen collector of Melitensia. Published several historical articles in books, academic journals, magazines and newspapers; edited a book Design Guidelines on Fire Safety for Buildings in Malta.
