Description
In his book, Jean Claude Attard skilfully places the poem Il-Jien u Lilhinn Minnu within its Mediterranean milieu and dissects the opus from an existential view-point. He leads us to savour Dun Karm’s own existential crises as a son, a priest and a poet in a predominantly Catholic context. The Maltese national poet is scrutinised within the background of the existentialism and the absurdism of the twentieth century. – Mgr Hector Scerri
