Description
The Grand Master’s Palace comprises a series of lavishly decorated ambiances and hosts an outstanding assortment of works, including the world’s only surviving complete original set of the Tenture des Indes. The original eight tapestries were specifically modified and turned into ten hangings to fit the architectural features of the Council Chamber which was earmarked to host them. The animals and plants featured in the tapestries are a document in themselves, including exotic iguanas, parrots, ostriches, armadillos, monkeys, turtles, fish, anteaters, and snakes
