August 24th, AD79 began as a day like any other- or so it seemed to the citizen of Pompeii. But the mighty volcano Vesuvius was stirring, and as soon they were fleeing for their lives, as ash and lava swamped their city. Pompeii lay buried for hundreds of years until it was rediscovered by archaeologists. This is the story of a moment in history caught forever.
