Catherine Doyle

Catherine Doyle is an Irish author of children’s and young adult fiction whose bestselling works span fantasy, romance, and adventure. She was born on 10 March 1990 in Galway, Ireland, and spent part of her early childhood in Jamaica before returning to Ireland, where she grew up by the Atlantic Ocean. From a young age, she loved reading myths and legends, which later inspired her own storytelling. She earned her BA in Psychology at the National University of Ireland, Galway, and went on to complete a master’s degree in Literature and Publishing.

Known for weaving Irish folklore into imaginative tales, she has earned Irish Book Awards and appeared on both the Sunday Times and New York Times bestseller lists. Doyle began her writing career with the young adult Blood for Blood trilogy, starting with Vendetta (2014), her award-winning and internationally bestselling book, published in over 30 languages. This book is part of the mafia trilogy, which includes VENDETTA, INFERNO & MAFIOSA. Other titles include the fantasy hit Twin Crowns series (with Katherine Webber), the acclaimed middle-grade Storm Keeper trilogy, The No.1 Sunday Times and New York Times Bestselling YA novel, the City of Fantome series, THE DAGGER & THE FLAME, published in September 2024, and the sequel, THE REBEL & THE ROSE, published in 2025, with the third to follow in 2026. The bestselling TWIN CROWNS trilogy is co-authored with Katherine Webber. She also authored her solo standalone spin-off, KING OF BEASTS, published in January, 2026. Her children’s fiction includes the spooky comedy SCARE BNB (2026), the STORM KEEPER trilogy, THE MIRACLE ON EBENEZER STREET, THE LOST GIRL KING, and PIRATES OF DARKSEA.

Catherine Doyle’s writing is known for combining fantasy, adventure, and emotional storytelling, often exploring themes of family, identity, courage, and belonging. Her books have been translated into many languages and have reached a global audience. She has received several awards and nominations, including the Books Are My Bag Readers’ Award and the Independent Bookshop Week Award for The Storm Keeper’s Island, inspired by her grandparents’ life on Arranmore Island, as well as multiple shortlistings for the Irish Book Awards and the YA Book Prize.
