Becky Cattie is an American children’s book author best known for writing humorous picture books for young readers. She usually writes together with her sister, Tara Luebbe. She lives in Chicago, USA. Her background lies in reality TV casting, she worked on shows like America’s Got Talent, and later became a creative recruiter while writing books on the side.
Her most popular picture books for kids are usually funny and character-driven like the “Famous” series, I Am Famous (2018) about a girl who believes she is a superstar, with her parents as “paparazzi”, and I Used to Be Famous (2019), a story that highlights the struggles when a new baby steals the spotlight. The themes explored are attention, siblings, humour about fame. Her best adventure & humour books include Shark Nate-O (2018), which tells about a shark-loving boy learns to overcome his fear of swimming, Operation Photobomb (2019), where jungle animals cause chaos with a camera. The themes explored in these books are bravery, humour and playful storytelling. Ronan the Librarian (2020), is popular story about the love of reading and breaking stereotypes. It is a humorous picture book from sister duo Tara Luebbe and Becky Cattie, and illustrator Victoria Maderna follows Ronan the Barbarian as he grows from being just a rough-and-tumble warrior to Ronan the Librarian–a rough-and-tumble warrior who loves books.
