Ariane Delrieu

Ariane Delrieu is a French illustrator and graphic artist best known for her colourful and expressive drawings in books and comics for young readers. She was born in 1984 in Nice, France, and studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Caen, as well as completing a Master’s degree in Modern Literature, where she focused on storytelling and fairy tales.
Delrieu began working in children’s publishing around 2011, creating illustrations for a wide range of books with publishers such as Albin Michel Jeunesse, Auzou, and Play-Bac. Her work is mainly aimed at young readers, and she is especially known for bringing stories to life through bright, lively, and expressive illustrations. She has worked on many other children’s books and series, collaborating with different authors and publishers. Her style is often described as bright, playful, and full of movement, which makes her especially suited to books about themes like ballet, adventure, and everyday life.
Delrieu is the illustrator of Sarah Danse, a children’s book that introduces young readers to the world of dance through lively images and engaging scenes. She has illustrated many popular children’s series, including Élisabeth, princesse à Versailles, written by Annie Jay, as well as Le Galop des étoiles and Les Folles Aventures de la famille Saint-Arthur. She is also the illustrator of the comic series Les Sortilèges de Zora, created with writer Judith Peignen.
Delrieu’s artistic style is often described as playful, colourful, and full of personality, making her characters especially appealing to children.
