Alan Fenech

Alan Fenech is a Maltese author and researcher best known for his work in heritage, biography, and cultural publications, particularly those produced in collaboration with Heritage Malta. His writing focuses on making Maltese history, archaeology, and cultural heritage accessible to a wide audience through clear, engaging, and well-researched publications.

He is one of the principal authors of Heritage Malta Museums & Sites: The Mediterranean in a Nutshell, a concise guidebook that presents around 30 Heritage Malta museums and sites. The book provides brief but informative overviews of Malta’s archaeological, historical, and cultural locations, ranging from prehistoric temples and palaces to maritime and industrial heritage. It is designed as an accessible reference for students, tourists, and general readers interested in Maltese heritage.

Fenech has also authored the biography Joseph Calleia: From Little Italy to Little Things, which explores the life and career of Maltese-born Hollywood actor Joseph Calleia. Through this work and others, including contributions to Heritage Malta monographs and guides, he has helped document and promote Malta’s cultural and artistic legacy, particularly in the fields of history, biography, and national identity.
