Adrian Reynolds

Born in South Wales, Reynolds studied at Swansea College of Art and later at the Cambridge School of Art before beginning his career in children’s publishing, including a stint working at Heffers Children’s Book Shop. His first books were published in 1997, and since then, he has illustrated and helped bring to life more than forty picture books.

Adrian Reynolds is a British illustrator and author best known for his work on the beloved Harry and the Dinosaurs picture‑book series (written by Ian Whybrow). Reynolds’s charming, expressive illustrations have been a key part of the Harry and the Dinosaurs stories’ appeal, helping to make Harry and his prehistoric pals favourites with young readers around the world. Adrian Reynolds has illustrated other children’s picture books for various authors. Who’s in the Loo? – This humorous, rhyming picture book, written by Jeanne Willis, features Adrian Reynolds’s lively, expressive illustrations that help bring the animal queue for the toilet to life. Big Red Bath – Written by Julia Jarman, this splashy, fun story about bath time and lots of animals is brought to life with Reynolds’s bright, friendly artwork. Bear in the Cave – This title is also illustrated by Adrian Reynolds, contributing his colourful, whimsical style to support the story.

He is best known for his work illustrating many beloved children’s books, especially the Harry and the Dinosaurs series. His books have won the Red House Picture Book Award and the Sheffield Children’s Book Award.
