The influx of modern Christian music is the direct result of The Jesus Movement of the 1960s, which spurred a new genre of music and helped to coin the term, Contemporary Christian Music. The release of You Called me to Worship You marks the debut Album from Maltese artist and author, Anthony Zarb-Dimech. It features vocals from leading and up and coming Maltese singers, who were invited to contribute a track each. Most of the tracks were composed by Anthony Zarb-Dimech and were all recorded and mixed at Phyllisienne Brincat’s Sweet Notes Studio. Audio Mastering and Disk Authoring was entrusted in the hands of Jeannot Kuenzel.

Author of several books and contributor of numerous newspaper features on the history of Malta, Anthony Zarb-Dimech was Holy Spirit-inspired to write the lyrics and melodies of these Christian praise and worship songs which he started receiving from the Lord, mainly in the summer of 2010.
The songs in, You Called me to Worship You are intended for Christians from all streams of Christianity, irrespective of denomination. Invited to participate in this project were several Maltese artists, including renowned Catholic Charismatic song writer, Joe C. Aquilina, with his Christmas track, Fil-Lukandi Mballati interpreted by budding singer Doriana Vella. Phyllisienne Brincat, Isadora Debono, John-Mark

Attard, Vince Fabri and Paul ‘Bibi’ Camilleri are other popular Maltese authors and singers who accepted to participate. Barbara Coates, from the U.K is also another guest author and singer.
The style of music is very progressive and draws upon the greater mix of diverse musical influences ranging from the typical Jewish folkloristic melody, as in Qatt Mhu Biżżejjed li NgħannileK and InfaħħreK to the more conventional rock and pop music as in the title track, You Called Me to Worship You.
There are songs in three different languages (Maltese, English and Italian). This goes in line with the overall aim of the album, which is to reach as many people as possible, not only in Malta but abroad. Together with the 8-page hard copy booklet, the Album comes along with an 18-page digital booklet which can be viewed on PC. This contains the lyrics and guitar chords of most of the tracks.
All net proceeds from the CD will be donated to Puttinu Cares.
