Description
Twin Rocks is the first book to highlight the 19th C. Maltese migration to the Fortress Rock of Gibraltar. It shows that about one third of the mix (of Genoese, Maltese, Jewish, Indian, Minorcan, Spanish and British) that make up today’s Gibraltarian people have a Maltese connection. Many past and current names in Gibraltar, from Abela to Zammit, which originated in Malta, are examined in detail, with their origins and derivations postulated. Various Malta connections are uncovered by new material and rare family photographs are reproduced in publication for the first time.
