There he meets other exiles as well as Maltese and English residents and travellers. A century later, Paul looks through a box of old photos at his mother’s house in Sliema, but finds that he knows very little about the family. How can he find out anything about their lives? In the meantime, his girlfriend Veronica is desperate to get married and start a new family.
