Lorry Zammit

Lorry Zammit was born on November 21, 1963, in St Paul’s Bay, Malta, where he spent his formative years in the picturesque seaside town that shaped his early life and values. Deeply rooted in Maltese culture, these early experiences played an important role in shaping both his personal character and professional outlook.

After marrying Lara Zammit, née Cardona, Lorry relocated from St Paul’s Bay to Naxxar. Together, they have two sons, Matthew and Luke. Family has always remained central to Lorry’s life, influencing his choices and providing a strong foundation throughout his career and creative pursuits.

In September 1987, Lorry Zammit joined the Malta Police Force, embarking on a long and dedicated career in public service. In 2000, he was transferred to the Civil Protection Department, after which he continued his service with the Fire Brigade. His long tenure in the Police Force equipped him with a deep understanding of Maltese society and provided inspiration for his later creative endeavours.

Lorry’s love for literature began at a young age. An avid reader, he spent much of his free time immersed in novels and storytelling, nurturing a passion that would later develop into writing.

In 2026, Lorry Zammit published his first book, introducing readers to the character of L-Ispettur Fred. Created by Lorry himself, the character reflects his intimate knowledge of the world of policing combined with his creative flair. The publication of his debut novel marks the beginning of his journey as an author, blending real-life experience with compelling storytelling to captivate Maltese readers.
