Amanda Zahra

Amanda Zahra is a Maltese children’s book author, animal welfare advocate, and educator whose love for animals inspires her writing. She is best known for the book Shadow Finds a Home, published by Kite Group in 2023.

The book tells the story of Shadow, a Pitbull dog, and uses his journey to raise awareness about abandoned dogs, shelter life, and animal adoption. It aims to help young readers understand the challenges abandoned animals waiting for adoption in shelters face and encourages kindness, responsibility, and empathy toward pets.

Amanda is deeply involved in animal welfare, including volunteering at shelters and caring for animals in need. Her own adopted Pitbull, Shadow, served as the direct inspiration for her book. In addition to Shadow Finds a Home, she has written other children’s books and educational titles. Her storytelling often reflects compassion, empathy, and real-world lessons for kids. Beyond writing, Zahra is known for her dedication to nature, environmental awareness, and supporting animal rescue efforts through volunteer work.
