Alice Oseman

Alice Oseman (born 16 October 1994) is an English author, illustrator, and screenwriter best known for her young adult novels and the acclaimed Heartstopper series. She grew up in Kent, England, and published her first novel, Solitaire, at just 19 years old. Oseman’s books — including Radio Silence, I Was Born for This, and Loveless — focus on contemporary teenage life, often exploring themes of friendship, identity, mental health, and LGBTQ+ experiences with honesty and nuance.

She also created the webcomic and graphic novel series Heartstopper, which follows the relationship between Nick and Charlie and has been adapted into a successful Netflix series on which she serves as writer and executive producer. Her work has received widespread praise for its realism, inclusivity, and emotional depth, earning awards and nominations including the YA Book Prize and Goodreads Choice recognitions.
