Alessandra Bianco
Alessandra Bianco is a Maltese researcher and editor whose work focuses on the preservation and promotion of Malta’s literary and cultural heritage. Her academic interests encompass literature, history, and heritage studies, and she has collaborated on research projects and publications that bring significant historical and literary sources to a wider audience. Through her editorial work, she has contributed to the documentation and appreciation of Malta’s intellectual and cultural legacy.
Bianco is co-editor, together with Professor Lino Bianco, of Vinċens Ciappara – Leħen il-Muża (2024), a scholarly edition of the previously unpublished poetry of Fr Vincent Ciappara, former cantor of St Helen’s Basilica. The volume is the result of several years of research and presents Ciappara’s poems, written in Maltese, Latin, Italian, and English, accompanied by critical studies and translations. The publication represents an important contribution to the study of twentieth-century Maltese literature and religious poetry, making the work of a previously little-known poet available to scholars and the general public alike.
Through her editorial and research activities, Alessandra Bianco has demonstrated a commitment to preserving Malta’s documentary and literary heritage.
