Albert Caruana

Albert Caruana is a Maltese academic and Professor of Marketing at the University of Malta. He is also internationally recognised for his research in marketing, particularly in areas such as market orientation, services marketing, and business performance. He has held academic positions and visiting roles in several universities and has published widely in leading international journals.

He is known for his research on marketing in small economies and small businesses, including influential studies on how firms in Malta and other countries adapt to competitive and globalised markets. One of his well-known academic works is “Market Orientation and Business Performance: Some European Evidence” (1994), which contributed to understanding how customer-focused strategies affect company success.

He is also the author of Maltese Business: The Challenge Ahead, a work that discusses the challenges facing Maltese enterprises in a changing economic environment, including competition, globalisation, and the need for improved productivity and strategic adaptation. His work often focuses on how Maltese businesses can become more competitive and sustainable in a modern economy.
