Agnes Betron-Martin

Agnès Bertron-Martin is a French author of children’s literature, born on 29 December 1960 in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, France. She specializes in creating short, engaging stories for young readers, often designed to be read aloud and enjoyed by children in early childhood and primary school. Since the mid-1990s, Bertron-Martin has published numerous books and stories with major French publishers, including Flammarion, Nathan, Milan, Bayard, and Lito. Her work regularly appears in children’s magazines such as J’aime lire and J’aime les histoires, and she frequently participates in theatrical readings and storytelling events across France. Her books cover a wide range of themes and are widely used in early-reading and picture-book collections within francophone children’s literature. Bertron-Martin’s stories are celebrated for their imaginative plots and accessible language, which foster early literacy and reading enjoyment. Many of her books have been translated and published internationally, including Maltese editions like Il-Prinċipessa Tya u l-għajbien tal-faragħun and il-Prinċipessa LinYao u l-perla tal-immortalità.
