Ada Grey

Ada Grey is a British children’s book illustrator known for her warm, playful, and character-driven picture book artwork. She studied illustration and later worked in design before returning to illustration full-time, developing a distinctive style characterised by expressive characters, soft textures, and a whimsical, energetic visual approach.

Grey has illustrated a number of popular children’s books, working with authors such as Steve Smallman and Tammi Salzano. Her work includes titles like Shhh! Don’t Wake the Royal Baby! and the Poo in the Zoo series. She is also the illustrator of I Love You Just the Way You Are, a picture book celebrating the unconditional love between parent and child.

Based in Brighton, Ada Grey continues to create illustrations for children’s publishing while developing her own recognised style within contemporary picture books. Her work is widely used in early years reading and is appreciated for its humour, warmth, and strong storytelling through images.
