Abigail Pace

Abigail Pace is a Maltese historian and researcher whose work focuses on women’s history, art history, and the recovery of overlooked historical narratives. She is a contributor to Discovering Women’s History in Malta (2024), an edited collection that brings together leading scholars to explore the lives and contributions of women in Maltese history from the early modern period to the twentieth century.

In collaboration with art historian Charlene Vella, Pace co-authored the chapter “Isabelle Borg: An Artist Who Happened to Be a Woman,” examining the life and artistic legacy of one of Malta’s pioneering women artists.

Through her historical research, Abigail Pace contributes to ongoing efforts to document and interpret women’s experiences in Malta, helping to broaden understanding of the country’s cultural and social heritage by highlighting figures whose achievements have often been overlooked in traditional historical accounts.
